The 2025 European Union Seafood Supply Synopsis, published by Seafood Europe (formerly AIPCE-CEP), provides the latest analysis of seafood trade flows by main species.
The report once again demonstrates the EU’s significant dependence on imported seafood in order to meet the European consumer’s demand for whitefish, salmon, tuna and shrimp.
The synopsis also reviews the regulatory environment, including Autonomous Tariff Quotas (ATQs), various trade agreements between the EU and third countries, and the complications arising from Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine.
