- EU–Vietnam: yellow card status
A representative of the EU External Action Services said that it is still not possible to lift Vietnam’s yellow card because Vietnam’s central government faces challenges with enforcing new policies and legislation at the provincial level.
- FRUCOM Feedback to EU consultation on Sustainable imports of fishery products under the EU Autonomous Tariff Quota Regulation
The FRUCOM feedback emphasises that the European Commission should:
-Guarantee a Level Playing Field on sustainability for all fisheries products placed on the EU market
-Avoid Duplication of Sustainability Obligations
- IUU Catch Certificates: DG MARE provides FRUCOM with clarification on late submission of catch certificates
Following a FRUCOM question on the late submission of catch certificates, DG MARE responded that member states can refuse importation of fishery products in cases where the importer has not complied with the obligations of the IUU Regulation, including the submission of the catch certificate at least 3 days before the estimated time of arrival in the EU territory.
- Update to the EU Regulation on the tariff and statistical nomenclature for shark fins
The new combined nomenclature (CN) code for shark fins is 1604 1800, in force from 1 January 2025.
