Extra vigilance on seafood from Malta

The Maltese authorities are advising Member States to be vigilant regarding fishery products originating from Malta and ensure that they are coming from approved establishments present in the official list as published by the Maltese Ministry of Agriculture. The official note states:

“Following an audit carried out in Malta from 05 to 15 March 2019 in order to evaluate the food safety control systems in place governing the production and placing on the market of fishery products, the Commission asks the Member States to pay special attention, during the routine controls, that fishery products originating from Malta are coming from approved establishments present in the official list as published by the Maltese Ministry of Agriculture ( https://agriculture.gov.mt/en/vrd/pages/listapprvdest.aspxlistapprvdest.aspx)
